The position offers the opportunity to establish an independent research group and to contribute to the internationally leading research environment at WWSC.

“We are looking for candidates with a strong scientific track record who want to advance their independent research career in a highly diverse, multidisciplinary, and collaborative environment, focusing on the manufacturing or modelling of biomass and biomass-derived materials and products.” says Christian Müller, Professor at Chalmers.

The role offers the opportunity to develop a research group specializing in one of the following areas:

  • Characterization of the plant cell wall, its components, or derived products
  • Molecular characterization of biomass and polymer interactions
  • Processing, modification, and manufacturing of biomass or biomass-derived materials
  • Correlative electron microscopy
  • Scattering techniques (including synchrotron-based X-ray scattering techniques)
  • Soft matter modelling, such as molecular dynamics simulations
