Wood be beautiful
WWSC Science-as-Art

Science-as-Art explores the visual beauty that emerges from scientific research. Images from microscopy, simulations, experiments or natural structures can reveal striking patterns, colours and forms that are not only scientifically meaningful but also aesthetically compelling. Wood be beautiful – WWSC Science-as-Art is part of the WWSC Workshops and shows the visual beauty of the research in the centre.

The aim is to highlight the aesthetic dimension of wood science and encourage new ways of communicating research. The Science-as-Art session has been held at the WWSC Summer workshop 2024 and the WWSC Winter workshop 2024.

Next Wood be beautiful: WWSC Summer workshop 2026

The call is open to all participants of the WWSC Summer Workshop 2026.
