Held at Bohusgården in Uddevalla, the workshop highlighted the impressive breadth and depth of research conducted within the Wallenberg Wood Science Center, complemented by valuable insights from invited speakers representing both academia and industry.
A key part of the programme was the poster and pitch sessions, where WWSC PhD students and postdocs presented their latest scientific developments. Beyond providing an important platform to communicate research progress and inspire new collaborations, the sessions also offered an extra incentive — the honor of being recognized for outstanding presentations.
In this year’s competition, the posters and pitches were evaluated separately: posters by a jury with representatives from universities and industry, and pitches through voting by all workshop participants. From many strong and well-delivered contributions, the following winners were selected:
Poster Competition Awardees
- Program I — Chloe Rantzos, Chalmers
- Program II — Antonia von Schreeb, KTH
- Program II — Marko Bek, Chalmers
- Program IV — Jan Jacobs, Chalmers
Pitch Prize — Audience Award
- Marita Afiandika, Chalmers
The awardees demonstrated exceptional scientific quality and strong communication skills, and the overall presentation level during the sessions was remarkably high.
“It is inspiring to see such dedication from our PhD students and postdocs, not to mention their scientific progress. Their achievements exemplify the talent and ambition that define the WWSC community,” says Anette Larsson, Director of the research school WWSC Academy.
WWSC congratulates all awardees! Their achievements reflect the scientific excellence and forward-looking mindset that drive progress toward sustainable materials based on forest resources. A warm thank you also to the jury for their excellent work in a very challenging task!
