WWSC – a world-class research center

Wallenberg Wood Science Center is a research center striving for scientific excellence with a focus on new and sustainable materials from trees. The center is a cross-disciplinary collaboration between three of the leading universities in Sweden: KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Chalmers University of Technology, and Linköping University.

A cross-disciplinary research community

In WWSC you will be part of a community with leading experts in their fields, all working together to create fossil-free materials based on bio-renewable resources – the components of wood. You will have access to state-of-the-art research infrastructure, giving you the best possible prerequisites for ground-breaking research.

WWSC Academy

All PhD students in the center are part of the WWSC research school: WWSC Academy.

WWSC Academy gives an extensive overview of the research field and insights in the industry, as well as contacts across the field – contacts valuable for your future career.

"The skills acquired in WWSC and all the contacts I made in the center as a PhD student have been of great value for me in my work at Stora Enso."
