Research area:
The work is focused on tuning the properties of cellulose based polymers and to correlate structure property relationships on these systems. Key areas are developing new modification methods for cellulose fibers and nanocrystalline cellulose with a special interest on developing protocols for selective modification of the sulfate groups. A pre-requiste for all of development is that it should be based on water-based chemistry.
