Poster-prize winners at WWSC Winter Workshop 2021

The first physical WWSC workshop since the pandemic was held in November. One of the highlights was the session where the students presented their work. The jury had a tough time deciding the winners of best pitch- and poster presentation!

During the WWSC Winter Workshop in November 2021, all WWSC PhD students presented their work, according to tradition, in a pitch- and poster session. The students have one minute and one slide to present their research on the stage, and to inspire for continued discussions during the directly following poster session.

When watching the session, it was clear that there is much interesting research ongoing in WWSC. With in total 50 students presenting, the competition for the prize of best pitch- and poster presentation was tough.

The jury, consisting of Yuanyuan, Li, KTH, Isak Engquist, LiU, and Konstantin Kriechbaum, Tetra Pak, made their evaluation based on the performance in the pitch presentation, the design and presentation of the posters, and the scientific content.

According to the jury, all PhD students did very well in their presentations and the whole session was excellent, but in the end three winners could be named:

1st prize: Linnea Cederholm, KTH, “How to close the polymer loop?!”
2nd prize: Johanna Heimonen, LiU, “Synthesis of functionalized polar conjugated polymers for advanced forest-based materials”
3rd prize: Shirin Naserifar, Chalmers, “Aqueous N,N-dimethylmorpholinium hydroxide as a novel solvent for cellulose”

Congratulations to all three winners!
