Wallenberg Wood Science Center is a research center with a focus on new materials from trees. The mission is to create knowledge and build competence that can form the basis for an innovative future value creation from forest raw material.

The base is a donation from Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation.



The continuation of WWSC, WWSC 2.0, receives funding from KAW

 2017-12-06 Wallenberg Wood Science Center receives continued funding for its research on new bio-based materials from the forest. The continuation of the research center, called WWSC 2.0, will be a collaboration between KTH, Chalmers, Linköping University and the forest industry and is supported by up to SEK 400 million from Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation (KAW) in the coming decade.'

KAW 100 years!

The funding source for WWSC, the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, celebrates 100 years 2017. There are many more sources of funding for research today than 100 years ago, and when the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation was formed in 1917, it was an important addition.
