Science, She Says! Award to Eleni Stavrinidou

The “Science, She Says! Award” is awarded by Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to an outstanding junior female scientist who has remarkably contributed to the advancement of science and technology.

Professor Eleni Stavrinidou is awarded the prize for her contributions to the development of plant bioelectronics for real-time monitoring and dynamic control of plant physiology and plant-based biohybrid materials and devices.

On 13th of June, Eleni Stavrinidou recieved the “Science, She Says! Award” for Europe from the Italian Ambassador to Sweden, Michele Pala, in a ceremony held at Linköping University.

– The committee reviewed applications from many talented individuals, but Eleni Stavrinidou’s dedication, commitment to innovation, and contribution to advancing society uniquely captured our attention, says Michele Pala.

– I want to emphasize that this award, although personal, belongs to my research group, Electronic Plants, at the Laboratory of Organic Electronics, says Eleni Stavrinidou.
